Jerry Pond is local Plein Air artist, born and raised in Ottawa Canada. Pond studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and later taught etching at the Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Art in Chicago.
In 1999 he moved to the Verde Valley this is when he developed a love for painting on the land. In art-making he finds relief from caring for his sick wife by connecting with nature and the elements. All of Pond’s paintings include frames that are hand carved by him using local wood.
In Plein Air Painting, Jerry strives to capture the beauty that Nature so
generously provides us — with life and inspiration.
