Yolanda Ormachea Butterfly earring pendant set in Sterling silver. Born in Cuzco in 1968, and by the time she was eight years old, Yolanda was already trapped by the wonderful world of Peruvian artistry. Even as a little girl, she was always making bracelets and necklaces out of leather and other materials. Yolanda has been dedicated to jewelry work since 1990, designing and making different collections from a variety of materials. But hers favorite subject are butterflies. She says “Our butterflies come from farms located in the Peruvian Amazon where native people collect the butterflies once they have completed their life cycle”. The wings are protected by resin and set into Sterling Silver to create a long-lasting and waterproof piece of jewelry.
