Lydia Gatzow is an emerging Arizona artist and contemporary landscape oil painter, inspired by the breath-taking beauty of nature.
She graduated from Pratt Institute of Art & Design in 2015 with a BFA in painting and has exhibited her work in juried group shows across the US and in London. Lydia has been featured in numerous catalogues including the conde naste publication, World of Interiors. Her paintings are primarily completed outdoors on site, en plein air, drawing direct inspiration from the sacred land of Sedona, where she lives, and from surrounding southwestern wilderness areas. She sees her paintings as thoughtful conversations with mother earth, the largest living and breathing organism known to mankind.
Lydia believes oil paintings can transform interior spaces and awaken the soul – the inner and outer temples of the human body. She has a background in organic farming and is passionate about wilderness conservation.
